Flake ice plants

Flake ice is mainly used:

a. In the fishery sector during storage or transport

b. In the large-scale retail trade for the display of products in counters

c. In the chemical industry to control temperature in endothermic processes

d. In the construction sector it helps to slow down the hardening of concrete

e. In the bakery sector to control leavening times

f. In mushroom cultivation to reduce the temperature of the substrate and ensure the correct humidity of the soil

At Friostar we design and build high efficiency, continuous production plants that do not require defrosting. This guarantees that 100% of the incoming water is transformed into ice.

The resulting product can be:

  • granular ice, irregularly shaped and measuring 10x5x10mm, mainly used in the preparation of ice beds
  • drawn granular ice, with less than 10% residual water, mainly used in the Ho.Re.Ca sector
  • flat flake ice subcooled to -7 °C, mainly used in the fishery sector

The systems can also be installed inside a 20′ or 40′ ISO Container, with the following advantages:

  • They are ready to use (only to be connected to water and electrical system)
  • They have already been tested
  • No additional construction required for use
  • They are easily transportable and repositionable
  • They can be placed next to storage cells
  • They can have a dedicated tank and generator

All systems are designed and manufactured to always guarantee:

  • Compliance with established budgets
  • Meticulous attention to detail
  • High quality materials
  • Long lasting durability
  • Ease of use
  • High energy efficiency
  • Reduced operating costs
  • Efficient, productive, and safe working conditions
